About Hashtag Events
Whether you’re coming along for the first time or you’re a seasoned pro and attending all of our events, welcome!
Hashtag Events are one of the UK and Ireland’s largest business event organisers. We deliver around 20 live face-to-face business shows a year and a similar number of virtual events. We welcome around 12,000 unique attendees a year to our shows and over 1,600 companies have exhibited with us so far. Our sponsors (check them out), exhibitors, speakers, delegates, followers and our team are all essential ingredients to delivering you a great day. If you visit, say hi and introduce yourself and have an awesome event.
What should I expect?
The show features everything you might need for a great day of business. There’s an awesome array of things to do and people to meet. It’s no exaggeration to say that we welcome businesses from all industries and sizes.
1-2-1 Networking
With over 15 years of experience in networking and events, we know how to connect people. Unlike some events, our networking sessions are free to attend all day. We connect you with the kind of in-person connections that make your business tick. With 82% of our delegates being decision-makers, you know you’re in the right company.
Workshops and Seminars
From world-class business leaders to award-winning authors, sporting heroes to captains of industry; we bring you the most insightful and inspiring speakers. We don’t lose sight of our roots and a small business either. We bring the best local experts to each event and keep you connected at every level. Meet the speakers, grab a coffee, and it’s access to all areas with our business speakers and presenters.
10:00am
10:30am - Seminar Area with Caroline Andrew-Johnstone
Your host Caroline Andrew-Johnstone, Managing Director of 4N, will be leading our first networking session of the day and helping you with a few tips as well as a chance to present your business to everyone with your “elevator pitch”. Bring lots of business cards, grab a coffee and start the day with some great connections.
11:15am - Seminar Area with Sam Rathling
In this presentation, Sam will share practical tips on prospecting, content and engagement to help you build your visibility and credibility on the LinkedIn platform. Unlock the power of LinkedIn to create both inbound and outbound leads, whilst building your brand and your business.
12:00pm - Seminar Area with James Kinnaird & Tom Martin
Join us as we explore how to best prevent the potential damage which can be caused when an employee or team leaves your business to work for a competitor, and how to tackle any issues which ultimately arise.
We will take a closer look at, and provide detailed guidance on the legal issues around confidential information and restrictive covenants, in particular focussing on:
• The importance of employment contracts
• The enforceability of restrictive covenants
• What to look out for when an employee leaves the business
• What action can be taken if you believe they are in breach of their obligations
12:45pm - Seminar Area with Alan Ball
In an increasingly competitive market for talent, keeping your best people is a key priority for business leaders.
We’ll separate the myths from the reality in this interactive session and help you uncover what really works to make your teams want to stay and contribute to your company’s future success.
1:30pm - Seminar Area with Geoff Nicholson
If you’ve been in business for more than about 5 minutes you’ll have realised that the world seldom works the way you thought in your business plan, whether you wrote one out or just gathered your thoughts. The truth is you need to be ready to adapt. Not just your physical actions but also your mindset and attitude. Following on from his acclaimed “Sh*t happens” workshops we’re examining if your plan, actual and mental is as good as you hope, or is it total b#llocks!
2:15pm - Seminar Area with Andrew Charlton
Before the day ends it’s time to throw your business card in the pot and we’ll match you up for three rapid fire one to one appointments so you can grow your connections with meaningful chats rather than a 60 second pitch.
